How to Solve Obesity and Diabetes
“Fat is not the problem,” says Dr. Walter Willett, chairman of the department of nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health. “If Americans could eliminate sugary beverages, potatoes, white bread, pasta, white rice and sugary snacks, we would wipe out almost all the problems we have with weight and diabetes and other metabolic diseases.”
We love the look on patient’s faces when we tell them to eat more butter, bacon and eggs. It’s like someone just told a kindergartener to go to recess. The look of unrestrained joy is simply amazing, and it should be!
For too long we have been told that these foods were bad for our health, that they will raise our cholesterol and that we will die earlier from them. It’s a shame that this whole time it’s actually been the carbohydrates that were more responsible than anything for these issues.
The proof has been in the medical books for years. Guyton’s physiology books have been studied by most medical students for the last several decades, yet these lessons are not pressed because there are “fabulous” pharmaceuticals that will “correct” these issues.
What a shame.
Enjoy your food, and while you’re at it, add a pat of butter to it!
