Kids are funny little oxymorons. They move too much (have you watched a group of 10-year-olds at a playground?) and they also move too little (video games, Netflix marathons). Add that up with poor posture (cell phone use) and you’ve got a perfect recipe for Back Pain.
Back pain is the most common cause of disability in the world! We often think of it as an adult issue, and we often overlook the kids who talk about this because they seem to bounce back so fast.
“Go walk it off.”
“It can’t be that bad.”
“You don’t know what back pain feels like. I’ll tell you what back pain feels like!”
Have you caught yourself saying these (or even thinking them)? The reality is that kids can get subluxations in their spine as well. These cause adhesions, scar tissue, and irritation.
If we don’t take care of this early, it becomes a much bigger issue as an adult.
Research from 2018 shows how one group of kids with back pain was given exercises while another was given chiropractic adjustments along with the exercises. The results were clear – the group getting adjusted did MUCH better!
This makes perfect sense in my opinion because we have to get the joint working better and get the stress off of the nervous system if anything is going to improve.
Back pain may affect the muscles, but the muscles are only there to provide motion and stability. If the spine is unstable, the muscles have to work harder. Get the spine working better, and the muscles can relax normally!
Stop wasting your time, effort, and money on things that aren’t addressing the root cause of your pain. Get in today to keep your spine and nervous system working well and avoid becoming another back pain statistic!
