Many free sources of information allow you to freely forward, copy, and share. Because our information is advertiser-free, unbiased, and labor-intensive to collect and report, our subscriber agreement has specific terms under which we license the copyrighted content.

• If you receive a print subscription, you may route your original copy to anyone in your office.
• If you view articles electronically or receive a PDF, you may not share your password and user name with anyone else.  Only the number of copies for which you subscribe may exist on your computer at one time, i.e. you cannot forward the electronic file by email or place it ona network or shared drive. Unless you have a multi-copy subscription, that means the original copy may not be duplicated or made publicly available in any way without prior permission and payment of appropriate reprint fees.
• It is a copyright violation to photocopy, forward, or post the newsletter in any way that allows non-subscribers to read it.
• You may summarize the article for use on your website.
• You may link to the article on your website.
• You may, on an occasional basis, copy a single story and send it to a colleague.

• We offer a newsletter site license for subscribers who wish to regularly distribute paper or electronic copies of Inside Healthcare IT to others in their organization.
• We allow you to reprint a single article and/or a single issue with advance permission. The request process is easy, fast, and free for subscribers.  All other are required to pay a reprint fee.  Requesting permission ensures that you are not violating copyright law.

To be fair to legal subscribers, newsletter publishers sometimes resort to lawsuits to enforce their copyright protections. These have resulted in seven- and even eight-figure settlements from subscribers or the employer of subscribers, with a reward paid to whoever alerted the newsletter of the violation.

We are a small business whose only revenue comes from subscriptions, not advertising. Illegally copied newsletters hurt our business as much as software piracy hurts software vendors.
